Go-Getter Program

 

The CPCU Society Go-Getter Program is designed to celebrate Society members whose contributions to risk management and insurance as well as active engagement with the CPCU Society best reflect the spirit and energy of our community. Each month, the Go-Getter Program shines a spotlight on individuals who lead by example, inspire those around them, and embody the values that move our industry forward.

Launched in 2025, the annual Go-Getter of the Year Award recognizes one of our monthly Go-Getters whose professional growth and active engagement best exemplify the spirit of the CPCU Society. The award honors the individual whose journey best reflects the heart of what it means to be and integral part of the CPCU Society, someone who is engaged, driven, and committed to making a difference.

Together, the Go-Getter Program and Go-Getter of the Year Award recognize the people in our community who go above and beyond for the success of our industry and organization.



 

Submission Information:

Submissions for the Go-Getter Program and Go-Getter of the Year Award open in Q4 of each year in tandem with the In2Risk event, and remain open through January of the following year.

All monthly Go-Getter profiles and the recipient of the Go-Getter of the Year Award are selected by members of the Emerging Leaders Committee in consultation with Society staff.



Eligibility:

All current dues paying members of The Institutes CPCU Society are encouraged to submit themselves to be considered as a monthly Go-Getter and for the Go-Getter of the Year Award. Due to the submission timeline, prospective Go-Getters must have renewed their membership for the following year at the time of selection.



Selection Information:

Those selected for a monthly Go-Getter profile receive the following recognition:

  • A feature on the CPCU Society website
  • Recognition on Society social media accounts
  • Inclusion in an edition of weekly Membership Monday newsletter

In addition to their monthly profile recognition, the Go-Getter of the Year Award recipient also receives:

  • In-person recognition at In2Risk
  • Interviewed for an episode of the IN the Know podcast
  • Additional online recognition as Go-Getter of the Year


Congratulations to our 2025 Go-Getter of the Year Award Recipient:
Janice Romero, CPCU

We are thrilled to announce Janice Romero as our inaugural Go-Getter of the Year award recipient. A CPCU Society member since 2002, Janice has consistently demonstrated leadership, adaptability, and a deep commitment to professional growth. Her long-standing involvement with the San Diego Chapter and engagement with Society knowledge resources has shaped her collaborative mindset and strengthened her resilience through industry changes. As a champion of diversity in the industry with a passion for mentorship and encouraging young people to consider careers in insurance, Janice truly exemplifies the values of the CPCU Society and what it means to be a Go-Getter.
