Which skills are you hoping to improve on?
I'm working to improve my networking skills as I'm aspiring to make a career change from the agent side of the business into a carrier role, particularly underwriting or marketing.
Tell us about something you enjoy outside of work.
I enjoy helping veterans, our community, and children. I'm a member of the local Ellsworth Moose Lodge and the Franklin Veterans Club. Our lodge recently held a 9/11 event where we were able to donate 1,500 comfort stuffed animals to give to children when responding to crisis events. The photos include Luke Gross who passed suddenly on the job while responding to an accident in October. Our Vet's club recently held a fundraising tournament to support his wife and children.
Why are you passionate about working in insurance?
I just love insurance! I fell into the career while in college working as a receptionist and going to night school when I was 19. I have a passion for helping the community and people and feel insurance is one of the best ways to do that.
In your opinion, what’s the best thing about being a CPCU Society member?
I love to connect with new people and have a passion for learning and career development. It's been difficult to grow being in a rural area and now with the advent of things like Zoom its becoming lot easier for me to grow my network and advance my goals. I think the society is a great place to meet with awesome professionals who have the same passions as I do. I'm looking forward to more involvement within the society.
