Emerging Contaminants: Tires and Pesticides

Presenters: Emily Goswami, CIH and Scott J. Glash, PG

Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. ET

Recently, two new emerging contaminants in tires and pesticides have been in the news for their potential environmental impacts. Known as 6PPD-quinone and DCPA, these contaminants have been manufactured for many years and may be ubiquitous in the environment. Regulators have taken notice and have started to study their environmental and human health effects. Additionally, regulations have been issued that will impact various businesses.

Our presentation will provide an overview of these two emerging contaminants, their potential environmental impacts, their potential human health impacts, and how these contaminants will impact the insurance industry from a loss control and claims perspective.

Key takeaways from this webinar include:
The potential environmental and human health risks that may apply to specific accounts
How to determine whether the emerging contaminants are present or absent
How regulators are addressing these contaminants
What steps should be taken if a release or alleged human health impact has occurred
