Jana Utter, CCEP

Jana Utter is vice president of enterprise risk management (ERM) for Centene Corporation, a Fortune 26 healthcare enterprise headquartered in St. Louis.  She is responsible for ERM and managing Centene’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and reporting.  Jana is also responsible for the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment and Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure reporting processes. 
 
Jana was named to the 2022 RIMS Risk Management Honor Roll and recognized as a Risk & Insurance All Star in 2022.  She served as the 2020 – 2021 chair of the Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management Council of RIMS, the Risk Management Society® and is currently a member of the Annual Conference Planning Committee.  Jana was previously a member of the Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO).  She served on the CCRO board and co-authored several published white papers on risk management and compliance topics.  

She holds degrees in accounting and finance from Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at University of Missouri - Kansas City.  Jana is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and holds the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation.

Lorie Graham, CPCU, ARe, ARM 

Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer

Lorie Graham, CPCU, ARe, ARM, AIAF, ALCM, ARP, ARC, AIM, is senior vice president and chief risk officer at American Agricultural Insurance Company. In this role, she is responsible for leadership, innovation, governance, and management of the company’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program and also oversees the corporate services area, including corporate risk, research and product development, underwriting, and marketing.

Lorie has over 30 years of experience in underwriting, risk management, and research. She joined American Agricultural Insurance Company in 2008 as a casualty underwriting manager and went on to serve in numerous other leadership positions at the company. She assumed her current role in 2021. Lorie is a frequent presenter at insurance industry events on ERM and emerging trends. She currently serves as chair of the RIMS Strategic Enterprise Risk Management Council and director of the IASA ERM Committee.

Suzanne Christensen, CPA

Suzanne Christensen is senior vice president, head of enterprise risk management and chair of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at Franklin Templeton Investments. 

Prior to rejoining Franklin Templeton in 2022, Ms. Christensen was chief risk officer at Invesco and chair of the Corporate Risk Management Committee.   Ms. Christensen joined Invesco in 2011 as head of financial planning and analysis, financial systems and enterprise risk management and subsequently served as Invesco’s treasurer, head of investor relations and risk before assuming the role of chief risk officer.  Ms. Christensen also formed and chaired the Global Governance Committee for the Invesco Women’s Network.

Prior to joining Invesco, Ms. Christensen was senior vice president of finance and chair of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee for Franklin Templeton Investments, where she served in several senior roles after joining the firm in 1989.  Ms. Christensen started her career as a staff auditor for Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney).

Ms. Christensen earned a BS degree with honors from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University.   She is a CPA and a member of the Association of International Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where she has served on their Assurance Services Executive Committee and as co-chair of the Enterprise Risk Management task force.  Ms. Christensen is also a member of the Investment Company Institute’s Chief Risk Officer Committee, as well as the Strategy and Enterprise Risk Management Council of RIMS, the Risk Management Society.

M. Michael Zuckerman, JD, MBA, ACI (Moderator)

Associate Professor of Instruction in Risk, Actuarial Science, and Legal Studies

M. Michael Zuckerman, JD, MBA, ACI is an associate professor of instruction) in risk and insurance management at Temple University’s Fox School of Business in Philadelphia. He also serves as the academic director for the Fox School’s Risk, Insurance, and Healthcare Management Department (RIHM) enterprise risk management initiative, which includes the development and management of the annual Enterprise Risk Management Conference at Fox. His research and teaching focus include enterprise risk management and the design, implementation, and operation of advanced alternative risk financing and transfer programs. Professor Zuckerman rejoined the Fox School full-time in 2012 from Aon, where he served as managing director and alternative risk financing practice leader for the Health Care Industry Group. Professor Zuckerman’s three decades of industry experience include executive positions at Thomas Jefferson University, Willis, Marsh and Temple University Health System. He also consults on risk management and insurance issues and is also a frequent speaker and writer on alternative risk financing and general risk management.
