The panel will quickly recap the basic parametric insurance principles then pull back the layers regarding legislative and regulatory concerns, provide a problem and solution example as well as present case studies involving the triggering of events and corresponding claims experience.

Dar Beachy, CPCU
Dar is a Product Owner in Enterprise Technology at State Farm Insurance Companies and is based in Bloomington, Illinois. Prior to joining Enterprise Technology, Dar was an underwriting analyst in the Labs innovation department and an Underwriting Supervisor in State Farm’s auto underwriting operations department where he also served as an underwriter in all functions within Auto. Dar has also spent time selling insurance, both in P&C and Life & Health. In addition to serving on the UIG committee, Dar is the Chair of the Careers in Insurance committee for the Central Illinois CPCU Local Chapter. Dar received his degree in Finance from Illinois State University.
Anthony Fienberg, CPCU
With 30 years of (re-)insurance experience, Anthony Fienberg is the Founder and Managing Partner of Chance Financial - that is More Than Just an Insurance Broker, namely Creators of Tailor-made and Digital Insurance Solutions, in the Affinity & Program Insurance space. With offices both in Europe and the US, among other specialties, Chance was the first to put together a residual value program in Europe with a pure parametric algorithm.
Andrew Klaus, CPCU
Andy began his insurance journey in 2006 as an affinity program sales agent. He offered P&C and professional liability options across the country over the next 10 years including fraternal organizations, quick service restaurants (QSR), retail pharmacies and credit unions. In 2014, Andy earned his CPCU designation and in 2016 he began his current position as the Lead Weather Index Insurance Producer at Vortex Insurance Agency, LLC. Andy obtains new business via end-user transactions (B2B) by educating a network of insurance agents and brokers to offer his parametric weather insurance products to their business prospects and clients.
Kate Stillwell
Kate Stillwell is the Founder and CEO of Jumpstart, an InsurTech startup that launched parametric insurance for consumers in 2018, starting with earthquake risk in the US. Previously Kate co-founded the US Resiliency Council and the Global Earthquake Model Foundation. Kate started her career as a licensed Structural Engineer and served a term as President of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California. Kate lives with her family in Oakland California.
